Health For Humanity is a Canadian non-profit working toward health promotion and education in marginalized populations in rural and remote regions.
Bean has worked with Health For Humanity for over a decade - brought together by our shared belief that access to healthcare and education is a basic human right.
Health for Humanity’s focus is on Guatemala, as this country represents one of the most impoverished populations in the Latin Americas - particularly among its Indigenous peoples.
Guatemala is a very special place for the Bean Around The World team, as it is in the Finca El Carrizal, a farm on a mountainous region, where we source our Santa Clara coffee bean.
And it is in Finca El Carrizal where we built the Bean Around The World school for the farm’s community.
Here, 80 students per year attend classes from kindergarten to 7th grade in a comprehensive educational facility.
In the last 10 years, Bean Around The World have partnered with Health for Humanity in supporting the Finca Santa Clara Scholarship Fund - a fund that helps pay for the estate workers’ children to attend primary, secondary and post-secondary schools.
Bean Around The World supports Health for Humanity by roasting and packing high-end, low volume, specially curated Caturra medium roast coffee beans from Finca Santa Clara. This coffee is then sold by H4H with proceeds in support of the scholarship fund.
We look forward to many more years in partnership with Health for Humanity,
