Coffee Is Community

We would be nothing without our world class beans. This means that our coffee is sourced from all around the world, influencing human livelihood on a global and local scale. Because of this, Bean Around the World has developed strong ties to rural coffee plantation farmers and their families. Most especially is the Finca El Carrizal Coffee Plantation found in the remote jungle of Southern Guatemala, where many of our beans are grown. In 2008, we decided to return the favour. Just like in our own families, we know that a solid education is what coffee farmers want most for their children, and what this community needed most. Our biggest achievement with each cup served is our building of a three-room schoolhouse and the sponsorship of it’s teachers, books, and supplies. Children in grades one through six and their parents can learn reading and writing and find a sense of community within the walls BATW constructed. This is coffee you can feel really, really good about drinking.
